Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
