The former president's Family Member Gets Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut
This young athlete has impressive online audience
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile cheerleaders as she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically suggested to go out there and relax," she added.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds the 461st position in AJGA rankings.
But she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the top athlete in the world," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, relax, adapting to the flow."
The golfer will compete against several top competitors in professional golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, particularly among younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains a massive following and just introduced an exclusive clothing and lifestyle brand.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
