FC Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
